Have you unplugged the laptop, disconnected the power adapter, taken out the battery and held down the power button without power applied. Hold down the button for 30 seconds. Now put it all back together. If you didn't take apart the two cords from the power adapter, you haven't broken it all down. Break it al down, hold the button for 30 seconds. Put it back together. Try it now with power in the wall.
