Hello,
I'm trying to hook up a hatachi SATA hard drive to my Dell IDE computer using an adapter, but when I power up the system it refuses to load into windows. When I check the bios system setup it shows both hard drives as unknown devices. Works just fine when I disconnect the SATA. Any thoughts?

I suggest you try a different adapter.

Hi Xeno,
It is highly probable that the problem is caused by the adapter. Adding an adapter may cause problem with the power supply, which could affect the other drive's functionality. Faulty connection could cause problems too. The best way to confirm that is to try the same adapter on another PC. Can you confirm that the SATA drive is working properly, if used in a SATA port?
Hope this helps
