                    Hi Kulamani,
I would recommend you to enter BIOS and check if the hard drive is correctly recognized. Have you tried formatting and partition the drive before installing Windows 8? Keep in mind that you should backup all your data before doing that.
If you have the possibility, remove the hard drive and connect it in another PC, as a secondary storage drive. Download the drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool and do complete drive scan.
