I bought a preloaded Gateway desktop from Newegg over a year ago. Last week I thought I'd try to wipe the memory so I could sell it, and I pressed the Reset Win 8 button. Now, I can power up the computer, and the viewsonic monitor will show its logo...then go to a "No Video Signal" message and shut off. The desktop itself still runs-the lights are on, the fans are whirring, and there is a single short beep at long intervals. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks in advance. I tried to reboot by holding down Alt+F8, tapping F2, nothing works....

Hello,
Try this 1
If you notice that your CPU fan is running but there is no display in
the screen, then check your RAM.
Remove the RAM from the slot, clean it and place it back properly or try
another slot.
If you are having two RAMs then remove it, place only one RAM and
check if you are able to get the display. If the problem still exists then
change the slot. If the problem still exists then try the above procedure
with the other RAM.
If you have no idea about RAM, then click on the below hyperlinks

I just tried this and no fix. I really wonder why this only happened after using the Windows 8 Reset button.

Make sure that you have placed the RAM back properly or try another slot.
Also does it still gives you the beep sounds? Do you have Graphic Card?
Good Luck

The video card fan is running, all the fans are running, the motherboard is clean, the ram cards are clean and not dusty. I turn on the Gateway with the power button on top - the Viewsonic monitor loads, then I get the "No Signal" message and the monitor shuts off. The desktop stays on. This blackout happened right after pressing the Windows 8 Reset screen. I tried unplugging and plugging back in RAM, using one, then two, in different sockets, and also unplugging and replugging graphics card.
Turn on power. Press computer power button. Short single beep. Repeats every 15-20 seconds. Turn on Viewsonic Monitor. It shows Viewsonic logo. No signal message. Powers off. This is the computer and graphics card:

Short single beep are mostly for RAM issues. Check your RAM golden contacts. Make sure that it's clean. Check your RAM once again and make sure that it's seated properly on the slot and the holding contacts are locked. If the problem still exists then try resetting your CMOS settings.
Turn off your PC and remove the power chord --> Open the cabinet --> Remove the CMOS battery for 15-30 minutes and then put it back properly. Now plug the power cord back in and switch ON your PC.
Click on the below hyperlink "CMOS Battery" if you don't have any idea about the CMOS battery.

If the problem still exist, click on the below link and follow the instructions in "Hardware Reset".

Yes it has a cheap graphics card. I tried to turn on the machine with it and without it, connected by different monitor cables. I tested my monitor with another computer and it works. It's so weird since all of it was working FINE until I pressed Reset Win 8 and the monitor went black for hours (I let it sit a day) and then just won't turn on anymore. I can hear the computer running , the fan on graphics card and power supply whirring, the power light on PC on...but ...just that single short beep every 10-20 seconds...and No Signal on the monitor.

If it's possible, get an another RAM or from other P,C which supports your motherboard and check if you are able to get the display or not.
