Hello Kris,
I assume that you are working with Windows, is that correct? Have you got a Windows repair CD/USB? If you do, I suggest you to try with it.
If your laptop is able to load for a little bit, please, try to boot into Safe mode and open the Command prompt. If you're able to do that, please enter the following command:
sfc /scannow
and press Enter. Wait for the system to be repaired.
