Hi Kalyani,
Could you give us a screenshot from your Disk Management? When in Disk Management, check if there is some Unallocated space, marked by a black line. Right click on it and select New Simple volume. This way you will be given the option to create a new partition. This is the basic method of partitioning and should be working on every PC. If you are unable to see any option when you right click the drive, switch SATA cables and ports. If possible, check the drive on another PC.
