I have a star tech usb 2.0 to ide sata adapter to see what on my hard drives and on my ibm dara 206000 hard drive is show up in disk management and say disk 1 unknown 5.59gb mot initialized when I click on it it it well not let me initialize it so can some one help me on this if yo can

Hi Knithwk,
I strongly recommend you to try the hard drive on another PC and with another adapter. The best way to check the drive is connecting it to a PC without using an adapter because it could be causing the problem. If you manage to connect the drive directly to another PCs motherboard and the issue persists, please attach an image of Disk Management.
