About Me email address verification

Hello,
I am trying to add an alternate email address called about me. Yahoo mail is saying that I need to verify the email address that was sent to my about me email address, however how can I verify an email when I have no password set up to open the about me email account. ? I tried to add the account but I get an error message saying email address is not found. ? Can you give me step by step instructions how to verify my about me email address?
