Facebook verification code wont send to email to confirm identityClosed

Question

Hello,

My Facebook account has been suspended and asks me to verify my account. It sends me security code via my email address. I did click on  the option to send me the security code but it never landed in my email ID. On my phone I can see which email it is sending it to and it never gets there. When I click continue for the "get code sent to your email" it then says "an error occurred while sending the message"

I have called yahoo and they have my email is working fine, i sent myself emails and all have been received. I dont know what is wrong but I think it is from facebook end. 

I've sent numerous emails to Facebook and they haven't replied.

I cant find a customer service number or live chat for Facebook to perhaps have them help that way. 

Other 2 verifications are to identify friends or pick 3 friends to tell you a code. However this facebook is really just for playing FB games and I dont know any of the facebook friends I added probably 5-10 years ago. So this email is mostly my only shot and a little error is preventing me please help.

SMH I'm having the same issue. I tried to email ***@*** and also created a report from here: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/221689587951755

Still awaiting a response back. I will update this forum if I get an update.

If you haven't received your Facebook Code, have a look at this article which explains what to do.

You can also follow the steps here on the Facebook support page if you created your account with a mobile device.

Exactly same problem
"Get a code sent to your email address" is only way to confirm it's my account, email address works perfectly.
Then I get:
"An error occurred while sending the message"
and code never arrives.

Other confirmation option (telephone number) will not work as it's an old number

Having the exact same problem as all of you. I logged in today with no problem. Then when updating some things this happened. I’m in a loop of it and it saying error message not sending. I’m getting nowhere and it’s been hours of trying to problem solve myself. I looked everywhere for answers.

Please keep us updated. I look forward to hearing what you find out. Hopefully this bug can be fixed ASAP!

Try disabling all browser extensions and try again. For me disabling adblocker fixed it

Any luck solving this problem? i tried many different platforms (PC, phone, iphone, android) still it says An error occurred while sending the message when confirming my identity. I really wish they would look into this

I had this issue for a couple days. I then tried to open facebook MESSENGER on android phone, it then said, account verified and allowed me to complete the verification and change password.

Desktop browsers and phone browsers could get to the send email, but no email ever came.

Odd that logging into the Messenger app solved this.

I had the same issue, after a very long inactivity of my account.
I recommend you to use the alternative way that leads to change the password via this form: https://www.facebook.com/login/identify
With this form, I finally managed to get a code sent by mail, but still need to confirm my identity by another way (mail, photo of identity card)

i found that in my case it was the dot character in the email, for example:
Firstname.Lastname@gmail.com

I didnt get the error if used the email:
FirstnameLastname@gmail.com
