Hello,

I want to change my yahoo mail password, I already used this link:

http://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?locale=en_CA&y=PROD_ACCT&page=contact

but It always directs me to changing password using phone number.

my account does not have an alternate email and my previous phone number has been discarded.

is there way to reset password without using an alt. email or phone number, like the one used long ago, the 'security questions'.

It still leads me to the phone number part... If there's another way to reset a password it would really help

Yes I did, and it leads me to a "Do you have access to this phone?" page. But I don't have the number anymore, I discarded it many months ago.

The page gives me the choice to send me a text message or say that I don't have access to the phone. If I click the latter,it will then send me to a page the instructs me to go to the link I pasted in the thread.

Thank you
Here is what Yahoo saying for cases similar to yours:

We take your account's privacy and security very seriously, and we'll only let you reclaim an account if you can prove you're the rightful owner.
When you register for an account, it's up to you to provide the most up-to-date and valid recovery info. Your best option to avoid losing access is to update your recovery info if you get a new phone number or change your alternate email address.
The Password Helper says my password can't be reset online - If you've tried using the Password Helper and weren't able to get access to your account, other recovery options may not be available. We know it can be frustrating to see the fail page, but in these rare cases, we recommend creating a new Yahoo account.

Sorry
