Sound device missing

Suddenly, my PC which is an HP all in one Pavilion MS500, has "lost" its sound device. Can't pull it up in device manager to reinstall a driver or anything. There is still the sound icon in lower right taskbar but it has a red X on it of course. The troubleshooter helped me none neither.

I suggest you go to the device manager, delete the sound card and restart your machine. Windows should detect new hardware.
