Downloads are showing up with internet explorer icon on?

earlier I went to play my sims 3 game and a notification came up telling me stuff had been removed so I decided to check my mods folder and they all had the internet explorer icon on them, when usually its a blank page. I clicked on it and it's only letting me save or open it. I searched online and found a solution. It said to delete LNK. so I did but the problem still hasnt been solved. does anyone know whats causing this and how I can stop it?

You have been infected with a virus. Run a virus scan after downloading the latest virus definitions!

Hello,

Does any one can help me? I have met a problem, all my icons of the program listed in start menu have change to internet explorer icons. I don't know why. When I opened them, it asked me to save or run. I have know ideas to deal with this problem. Please help!! Thank you in advance.

Internet connected but webpages won't load

Hello,
I use firefox. I know that my connection is fine, but my firefox screen is blank. The internet explorer screen won't work either - says unable to load page.
Can anybody help?
