Hold down the power button! If it is locked up, that will fix it! Not certain if it will boot again, but then again, it is hung right now anyway huh?
Do NOT do this every time! Only if it hangs when shutting down! You need to have the machine shut down gracefully, and this method does NOT do that! Emergency Only!
