                    Hello Wcotton,
Are you able to hear the hard drive spinning? If you can, then my suggestion is to enter the BIOS next time when you start the laptop and to go to the Boot menu. There, you should be able to find the hard drive in the list of devices to boot from. Are you able to find the HDD? If so, select it as a first boot priority device. Then save and exit the BIOS in order to continue with the starting process.
If you can't see the HDD it's because it has probably failed and need replacement.
