How to factory reset a hp Vista 32 bit laptop

Hello,

My question is I'm selling my laptop and want everything wiped .
I have try ed doing a factory reset by pushing f11and everything is gone I guess but now all my laptop does is turn on and go to a computer repair screen and shutdown what am I to do I have no recovery discs
