Distorted screen virus

Hello,

I have an HP Laptop 1 1/2 years old with XP. I installed Magic Jack on my system a couple of months ago and I get a distorted screen with blue squares and the system locks up. This happens when I am typing and again when the system is on and is sitting idle.

Does anyone know what this is? I have run Norton several times and it doesn't help.

i have the same problem with my desktop nothing seems to fix it not even a reformat i have rang several computer stores and they have told me its either the ram sticks in ya computer or it the ram in ya graphics card .But i wouldn't have a clue about this side of computer i usually don't even open my comp cuz i wouldn't have an idea what things are in there
