this sounds like a failed hard disk. I suggest you try to boot from a Linux CD to see if the motherboard still works.

Hi Loribridges,
Could you please give us more details about the error message you are getting? It looks like a Windows issue or a hard drive problem. Do you have a Windows installation drive? Boot from it and select the Repair option. It should fix some errors without harming your data. Is reinstalling the OS an option? If the same issue appears even after reinstalling the OS, there may be a problem with your hard drive. Download the drive manufacturer’s diagnostic tool and check the drive for errors. If you have important data stored on the drive, connect it in another desktop PC and backup al information.
