Hi Ben,
Unfortunately, this error may indicate a drive failure. I strongly recommend you to test the drive on another PC. How does the drive appear in Disk Management? If it is not listed there or is listed but without any options to format, unfortunately the drive may need to be replaced. As Ambucias said, repairing failed pendrives is not really possible. If you have important data stored on the drive, I recommend you to try using some data recovery tools. I leave you a link with some software suggestions:
