Remove write protection [Closed]

Hi
I have a flash drive that says it is write protected. I have tried using regedit and cmd to remove the protection but nothing works. I cannot format the drive as it says it can't due to it being write protected. I have never set it to be write protected and it doesn't have the write protection switch on the drive itself. I have checked it for viruses and nothing.

Can you tell me if there is any other way to remove the protection?

Thanks
Brenda

What is the make and model of your flash drive?
It is a verbatim but not sure what model. 29GB

The files could have been marked as scan only somehow. Check the Properties of 1 of the files and see what show up at the bottom of the Properties page.

If it shows browse solely, change the attribute of all the files on the stick mistreatment the command prompt and by typing:-

attrib -r x:\*.*
then press Enter. The x on top of needs to get replaced by the actual driver letter of the stick at that point.
