that's the correct cord to use. Did you try using the phone/cord on another computer or using a different USB cord?

Hi Tomscc,
Those USB cables are for charging and data transfer. You really should try using another USB cable. Depending on the phone model, when you connect it to a PC you may need to select from the phone if you want to only charge or you would like to do data transfer. Please check if something like this appears.
Check if the phone appears in Device Manager, under USB devices. If it is not listed there, the drivers were not installed and you may need to do it manually. Check the manufacturer’s page for the drivers and try to install them manually.

Please have in mind that there may be compatibility issues with some Windows versions.

Help F I really appreciate you going into this so deeply for me, i did need to install the driver from your link and it installed successfully. but it is still not showing up in disk management or computer properties. so what do you think i should maybe get another usb cable and see if it works then? i do notice that this usb i do have does charge the phone but that is all. please let me know and Thank You Again.

Yes, it is a good idea to try using any cable. Please connect the cable to the PC and check if you get the typical USB connected sound from the PC. Look at the phone’s screen and check if there is some connection message asking you to choose what to do with the established connection. If you still cannot fix the issue, contact the phone manufacturer’s support and ask for guidance.

Will be getting a new usb data cord over the weekend, the one i have now i believe i just a charger cord it charges but nothing else. will get back to you after trying the new usb data cord, Thanks
