Search functionality on PC

We have a laptop that has lost its search function....both on outlook and in files it just doesn't find any file or folder you search for even though I know it is in there.
I believe it is called indexing capability? Any help is much appreciated...deja'vu has me recalling that this has happened before, but just can't remember the fix!? Thanks!

Hi

I also have Windows 10, I rarely use the search function but when I did, I was successful, if not either I put in the wrong key words or too many words. Of course I am talking here about Explorer.

If your os is up-to-date you should get all kinds of results, sometimes to many. I would agree with you, it's not the ultimate and you must try different search patterns.
