Excel 2016 filters do not work Closed

Hello, 

My filter stopped working in 2016. It is completely inactive - doesn't show any other option only the one it froze on. In the menu the filter is inactive - grey, so there is no way to disable it and make it work again. I got rid of hidden columns with no values, I am not sure what else to do. I would be very happy for an advice!

SO, in the menu of DATA, the filter is grayed out there too?  Highlight the first row of about 4 cells, and goto DATA, FILTER.  What happens?
