Black screen with cursor

Hello,
since i updated my accer laptop i int been able to start windows up . when i turn on my laptop i just get a black screen with the cursor. i tryed pressing the shift button 5 times but there was just a box asking if i want sticky keys on or off no other option like suggested please help i have all my childrens photos on it and valuable personal stuff on it

hello, it is possible that your explorer.exe or a registry is corrupt. does alt ctrl del work? if yes, from there you can access your task manager

On the application tab, click new task

and then type c:

from there you should be able to access all your data to make back-ups
