Hello,
please help! my daughters computer has little to nothing showing up on the screen, for the most part it is black. However if I shine a flash light on it I can see everything, she said it was fine yesterday and now this. Can you help??

The symptoms you describe point to a failure of the "backlight" or "inverter" these are both hardware problems that only a qualified repair shop can deal with.
