Problems with keyboard on new Asus x5din

Hello, I have just purchased a Asus x5din lap top.I soon found that the wrong things come uwhen I press the shft key eg " is @ and visa versa ,~ is | ,# is \ ,£ is # ¬ is ~.I exchanged the comp for another one and this one is the same.I phoned Argos ,where I bought it from and they said there is not a fault with the computer and I should be able to correct it but how ,PLEASE is there anyone who can help me.Thanks

Try this:
>control panel
>regional and languages options
>languages
select the English keyboard if you have the option
>details
>key settings

I had same problem.

Change keyboard to United States-International keyboard. You may have to add it to your list of available keyboards.
