Standby mode

My computer will no longer allow me to put it on standby when i close the lid. ive tried to fix the settongs in the power settings, but it has completely deleted the option and all it says is "do nothing"when i close the lid to my computer..... what can i do to fix this?

Dear Sir,

If the problem is not coming from its hardware, you should try restoring to factory settings to see whether the problem get fixed.
