No Sound

Hello, every so often the sound on my laptop stops working on all programs.
i know that if you turn it off and turn it on it works again but is there a program that can fix it without me having to restart my computer?

Hi there,

Start by opening system configuration,open run and type msconfig,now on general tab select normal startup and restart machine with default drivers loaded.
