No Sound Coming Out of the Audio Jack

Hello, I have a problem with the audio jack on my laptop. There is no sound coming out of the jack. I run an external PC stereo system with two speakers. Everything iw hooked correctly...input, output, no conflict in Device Manager, Device is working properly all components.. I get sound out of the laptop speakers but none through the audio jack. I trouble shot the3 system, the default is audio speakers...no sound from output of the stereo system. It's like the audio jack is dead. If I change to earphone setting, still no audio thru the audio jack. Can someone kindly help please.
