Hi Ian,
Are using a laptop PC? Is the PC running fine when used at night? If it is, this may be caused by the lower room temperature at night.
If the PC is suffering from overheating, it is normal to shuts itself down to preserve the hardware. I strongly recommend you to clean the cooling fans and check the thermal paste.
