What are Seeders and Leechers: definition and meaning
If you often frequent P2P or FTP download websites, you may have come across the terms seeders and leechers. This tutorial will explain to you what these terms mean and when they are used.
Seeders vs. Leechers
- Seeders meaning:
The term "seeders" refers to users who have the complete file and are sharing it. In other words, these are the people who are uploading the data.
- Leechers meaning:
The term "leechers" refers to the users downloading the files. This term can also refer to a person who advocates the paternity of a link without being the one who initially provided the file for download on the sharing platform.
This means that the more seeders present per file, the quicker the file will download. Then when there is a small amount of seeders and a large number of leechers, the waiting time will be long, and even download failures may occur. If there are only leechers, there is nothing to download.
