Hello Amy,
What exactly is your question? What is it that you wish to fix?
What is your operating system?
What is the make and model of your hard drive?

Do you have recent restorable backups on external media of your OS partition and your Data partition? If not, OS and Data recovery will:
-- be harder for sure
-- success chances - not sure
Did you install the recovery software onto the same HD you accidentally made into a New Volume? If so, data recovery success chances are going to be slimmer. I believe other forums, and this one, have advised end-users to:
-- download partition recovery software onto a 2nd computer and create a USB and/or a DVD boot
-- attempt to recover the original partition(s) with said software
-- be harder for sure
-- success chances - not sure
