Keypad and mouse stops working minutes after loading

Good evening, I have gone through a forum that addressed similar issue of keypad and mouse that stop working after the system loads. It said to remove the battery of the laptop. I'm using hp pavilion screen touch and the battery is inbuilt. Will appreciate ur assistance.
