The tick-tick-tick sound may be the hard disk trying to read a defective sector.
I suggest you replace the hard disk and re-install Windows.

Tick- Tick sound from the hard drive shows that your hard drive is physically damaged and can not read the drives available data. I would suggest to replace the drive as soon as possible.
