Dark blue screen

Dell laptop. So after weeks of getting an annoying (I think it was a dell update could be wrong) update reminder I tell it to update, within a minute it starts to shutdown, still shutting down two hours later, I hit the off button still nothing, about 30 minutes later it just turns into a dark blue/black screen. The keyboard still lights ups and both the keyboard and screen still go to sleep after a few minutes. Left it as is overnight, still hasn’t changed.
