I accidentally shoved my earbuds into the USB plugin on my ASUS

Hello,
So, as of last night, I went to plug my earbuds in, and it was quite dark, and mistakenly, yet somewhat forcefully shoved them into the USB plugin, and my laptop shut down. I use and ASUS, I believe the model is X4O1U. I have had it for a few years now, but didn't use it for about a year, until now. I really need it fixed ASAP to finish my work for classes. What can I do other than taking it to the repair shop?
