Hello,

I have a HP PROBOOK 450 G4 that i have been using for 8 months with windows 10 pro 64 bit . To day it prompted me for an update, it was a feature update, mid way it crashed with an error message and then it automatically started to re install the previous version when it restarted it didn't boot to the os. Only the hp logo appears on screen. The fans, keyboard and cd rom are working correctly. I inserted an installation disc but couldn't access the bios as it can't boot. Is it a CMOS failure or something else!
Any help would be appreciated?

Hi

It would be awfully nice of you to tell us what was the error message when the crash occurred.

What do you mean by "feature" update?

Can you boot in safe mode?

But first, try this:

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

Hi
Windows feature updates changes the appearance different from security updates.
For the error code or message i don't remember it happened fast and i thought it would roll back normally.
I can't boot in safe mode.
And right now i cant remove the battery because it is inside the case.

I know about HP laptops but not much about HP PROBOOK. One thing that I am sure of is that HP laptop batteries can be removed. See this link for guidance:

I am wondering how you tried to boot in safe mode with Windows 10.

Good luck
