HP laptop screen goes blank

I have an hp G60-445DX that will turn on, the Intell screen comes up, then it immediately goes to blank screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left hand corner, but will do nothing or respond to anything. Have tried a hard reboot.

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
