Proposed solution to resolve the mess created by the new contact system:
1) Make sure your gmail contacts are complete and accurate.
2) Delete all yahoo mail contacts (note: ask Google how to do that. Now it is hard to do)
3) Import contacts from Gmail.
4) Ask Google how to create.maintain mailing lists. Now it is hard to do.
I am so sorry: Contacts worked so well before the new mess.
