Reset Mail.app preferences to default?

What is the main purpose for doing this? What issues does it resolve?

1. Resolves issues. 2.It resolves all of them.

Consider your "question". What do you think it does? If you are having issues with your Icloud services, or any other APPLE service, it will rectify those.

Find somewhere that says it doesn't, because I can find more than one article that says it does. Sorry if I have read more about your issue than you have
