I am also facing the same problem but i am using ubuntu , Can you please suggest a way to fix the issue.

Sorry , The existing thread got missed.. My ubuntu system (Asus Notebook) is working only when the power card is connected. If i am disconnecting the power card the system getting turned of suddenly.

I think your laptop battery is defective. You should replace it.

You can also try these solutions to revieve a dead laptop battery.
