My friend told me that my IP adress is given to who ever im calling or messaging...is this true,....also can i block it from the reciever and where and how does a locate that and do that while your taking a call or reading the message, one would think there wasnt time to do this.

Hello, whenever you are connected to the Internet, your IP address is visible. If you are calling and messaging this person over the internet then yes they would be able to see your IP address. But I think, if you are just calling from a mobile (not connected to the internet), they would just see your mobile number.
If you want to protect your IP address you can change your local IP address following these steps, or install a VPN (virtual private network) on your mobile device or computer which would then hide your IP address and show a different one.
