Windows xp pro & intel core2 duo

Hello,
All I want to know is, can I operate Windows XP Pro with one Intel Core2 Duo processor?
I was told that I could not. What is the real scoop?

hi,

you can surely run Windows XP on an intel core 2 duo processor.

you will even experience a great processing speed.

fast it really is. I am running a 1.8 gig pentium 4 now.

U Cannot , i have a Compaq Presario Cq40 Laptop, Bought a Year Back , I can install windows 7 , vista , Diamond , But not xp , when checked , its not the processer , but the Computer itself is not a xp based computer , is a higher version laptop .
