Laptop won't boot up

Hello,
I have just bought a laptop from ebay and it won't boot. the light comes on led but when you take out the battery and just use the adaptor the led light won't come on at all tried all the above but to no avail.

check try by using only the battery, if that doesn't work either, check the power pin... if the pin isn't shaking or missing, it could mean that your motherboard is fried... a friend had a similar problem, he motherboard was fried...
