My sound wont work

Hello,
i had my sound working fine on my dell inspiron 531 and sudenly it stoped working, it wont play cds or any noise for the internet at all. but when i go to conntrol panel and test my speakers they work. wat do i do.

Hello check your volume settings! Just double click on the speaker icon on your taskbar and verify if one of the volume is on low?
