Desktop Icons always open with Windows 2007

Hello,
My computer started trying to open all of my desktop icons with Word 2007 which renders them useless. How can I stop this?

I am having the same problem and it started in the last week also. I didn't install google chrome but I did download an updated adobe flash player. Vista home premium.
