For about a month now I have this very weird issue. But before that I will go into a bit more detail. I had an old iPhone that is like 7 plus years old and the battery was terrible. So I had the idea to upgrade. When I upgraded I got the iPhone 11. When I got the phone for the first couple of days everything was working fine. Then 3-4 days into me having the iPhone 11 the issue I am having starting. Now this issue is unlike any issue I have ever had. What this issue is, is that when I call anyone on discord, Snapchat, messenger, and I’m assuming any other app that allows you to call it like crashes my internet. It basically makes it so I have no internet connection at all for my iPhone 11. But all of my other devices are working perfectly during this time. Therefore it cannot be a router issue and to even make sure of that I have reset the router so many times to see and nothing. Moving on from the router I have done all of the trouble shooting steps and even got to the last step of factory resetting the phone. That did not work at all. Given my only option left I went to the Verizon store nearby Saturday August 14th and got a replacement. The replacement I got was the iPhone 12 instead thinking that the issue would not be there yet the same issue I had with my 11 is there. The weird thing is that my very old iPhone works perfectly fine with discord and messenger etc but the newer ones do not. Any ideas?

Hi,

When you got the iPhone 12, did you restore your backup from iTunes/iCloud or set it as a new phone? If you restored it from a backup, then this issue may be caused by that backup.

I suggest you try resetting it through iTunes and setting it as a new phone. Then install the apps and see if they work now. You can create a new backup before, so you don't lose your data.

I do not have the ability to connect my iPhone to a computer with iTunes on it. But I have factory reset and then set it up manually as well using the same id and the issue was still there. I have done factory resets by using the data from the older phone itself and the issue was there. So I have not tried the iTunes way but iCloud and manually. Plus the phone I used the backup from works perfectly fine with discord, messenger etc while calling.

Resetting it through iTunes will also reinstall a new copy of iOS on your iPhone. That's why it could be better than a reset from the settings. Why you cannot connect it?

Alternatively, update your iPhone (Settings > General > Software Update) if you're not using the latest version. You can also try resetting the network settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

I have already updated to the latest OS besides the one that is in beta testing. My old IPhone is on 14.6 and works perfectly. My iPhone 11 which worked fine for like 3 days was on 14.6 before the issue started and I went to 14.7.1 and the issue was there. My iPhone 12 that I got as a replacement was 14.6 initially and still had the issue. Then I went to 14.7.1 and the issue was still there. And I cannot connect it because I believe I do not have the cord and I do not believe my laptop uses iTunes. Then with the network setting that has been done multiple times and nothing

Try contacting Apple Support to inform them about this calling issue.

Good luck.

So no news really. What apple support told me to try was contacting my service provider and having them test a new said, probably fully resetting the router, making sure all the settings are correct and to try FaceTiming to see if it is only an issue with third party apps or not.

Thanks for the update. I would like to suggest also to uninstall all the apps (third-party), then install one of them and do a test. Maybe they interfere between them if they are all installed...

As Apple suggested you to contact your ISP, you can try using another internet connection to check if this issue only occurs with your own connection or not. Try also switching between WiFi and cellular data and vice-versa during the test.

I already have switched between data and WiFi. The second I go to WiFi everything is working perfectly fine. Well in WiFi the second I leave the call everything works.

It is difficult to understand what really causes the issue... I recommend you go to the Verizon Store where you bought the iPhone to try to find a solution.

Good luck

I have already been to the store. The diagnostics was fine. And I even traded my 11 in for a 12 to see if that fixed it and nope

If you try with FaceTime, do you get the same issue? Also, if you haven't tried yet, try removing the SIM card and logging out from your Apple ID. Restart your iPhone and test again.
