Hello,
I am new here and new to computers and especially linux. I am hopeless even with the most basic stuff :(
I have an acer aspire one running on linux. It was working fine the last few months up untill last night. This morning before switching it on i cleaned the screen. After switching it on i get the message something along the lines " having problems connecting to the internet. Do you wish to create a new connection"
Secondly. the volume icon in the right botton has a cross (x) mark on it and when i click on it it says " No volume control GStreamer plugins and /or devices found"
Thirdly, when i click on " my documents" it does not open. The same is the case with " my music". " My pictures" open but it has no pictures in it that i had.
The rest works fine like games etc. They open when i double click on them and work.
Could i have damaged it somehow? I don't have a clue to what is happening. My connection is working fine as i am using it right now with my PC.
Kindly guide me if possible.
Regards

Hi :)

It may depend on which version of linux but this forum should be able to help
http://www.linuxquestions.org
as it deals with a huge range of different versions of linux but is dedicated to linux support.

It might be worth popping along to
https://distrowatch.com/
to see if you recognise which of those versions of linux you are using. If you see your version listed down on the right-hand side then click on it and navigate to the "User Forums" for your version of linux. They should be able to give much better help in there.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
