Hello,

I am unable to install windows XP SP1/SP2/SP3 on my brand new dell inspiron 1545 which came with no OS installed on it .

When I insert the XP disc and setup finishes loading files ,

I get a blue screen and the following error : 0x0000007B

Please help me out.

To install XP, you will need to change the sata mode on the bios. You will have to change to IDE!

Press F2 to access bios!

With a Dell XPS Studio i7, the Bios setting is labeled "RAID". And changing it to "ATA" worked perfectly. Thanks for the info!

HI....
In bios...change system (SATA)configuaration from AHCI to ATA..

I'm also having the same problem, but changing from AHCI to ATA doesn't resolve the issue.

This system originally shipped with BIOS A08, and Windows Vista.

I'm trying to get Dell support to tell me if A08 is even compatible with XP.

1-If you change system (SATA)configuaration from AHCI to ATA you can now install Winxp SP3 Just SP3
With no Error it works fine with me.
2- you can istall any hacked xp with lots of drivers updates like winxp crestal and then make arepare its along road just change your bios and install XP SP3.

hi,

contact the shop from where you bought the computer.

this may be a bad computer.

I had a weird issue where I could not install XP as I could not press F8 to agree to the agreement. This laptop has an option to turn the function keys into media keys in the bios, having to press the fn key to make them work at all. Turned off that option and was able to install, just a little xtra fyi.

Was having a similar issue but pressed function + F8 key... accepted license agreement with no problem

You need drivers for the HD, because the XP disc does not have the right drivers, so when you find them let me know...its likely going to be from the HD manufacturer!?
