I don't know what do you mean by devices which are higher in standard.
In my opinion, I think the type of jack of your headphones is the cause. Some devices doesn't support TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve: stereo + microphone) jacks, but only TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve: stereo) or TS (Tip-Sleeve: mono) jacks - or vice versa.
You can buy an adapter in order to use it with your non-compatible devices. To determine which type of adapter you need, refer to your device's specs. Alternatively, connect headphones that currently work with your devices and identify its type of jack, then identify the jack of your new headphones.
