No sound

Hi,so i bought a new hp usb external dvd rw drive for my hp laptop however there's no audio when i play a dvd cd only visuals,any help???????????

Well I will suggest you to check for the driver updated may be the missing or outdated driver can be the cause of this so i will suggest to updated the audio driver of your system.

Make sure your audio device is not muted or disabled. Press and hold (or right-click) the Speakers icon in the taskbar and select Open Volume Mixer. Note: If you don't see your speakers displayed, they may be in the overflow area. Select to check Show hidden icons.
